A course for those working in lower-risk environments looking to become an Emergency First Aider at Work. This qualification is based on the HSE training standard for delivery of First Aid at Work courses for the purpose of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 (Northern Ireland 1982). The course is designed to enable candidates to gain knowledge and competencies needed to deal with a range of emergency situations. Candidates should be able to demonstrate practical application of safe, prompt and effective first aid in an emergency situation. The course is designed for individuals with specific responsibilities at work or in voluntary or community activities to provide First Aid in emergency situations. The qualification comprises of one mandatory unit with a total of 1 credit and 8 guided learning hours. Written assessments are undertaken at the end of the course whilst practical skills will be assessed continuously throughout. 1 day, maximum of 12 candidates per course
